Britain’s top 10 spy drinks: James Bond

In the cult Bond films, the famous 007 agent often went for gourmet spirits thanks to his exquisite taste. As a result, every cocktail is a consummate example of good taste for young men all over the world. It lacks any complex ingredients and is served without being pretentious.

What does James Bond choose?

In the films, the world-famous 007 agent mostly chooses champagne and strong vodka with some martini added. But in the books he has read, it is the list of different wines that is quite varied. Ten of the famous Bond’s favourite cocktails can be made completely on their own.

Vodka Martini

The presented cocktail is the main calling card of this agent, because he consumes it in all films. Vodka can also be replaced by gin and a martini in the concoction. Before serving, the drink is shaken rather than mixed and then poured into the prepared glass as a trickle.

Whisky with club soda

All Brits opt for whisky. The book agent orders scotch quite often and also prefers it diluted with ice and soda. The resulting added ingredients, which can also be bourbon and brandy, create a bouquet of great flavours.

Black Velvet

Agent James Bond thinks there’s nothing more delicious than a dark beer brewed with champagne and various seafood. All the ingredients present are chilled before use. The beer is poured only very slowly so as to prevent the appearance of excessive foam on the surface.

Negroni

It is believed that this cocktail was invented by Count Camillo Negroni, modifying an existing recipe for a traditional Americano. It contains vermouth, bitter and a delicious gin, and is served served with a small slice of lemon.

Americano

This popular Americano has also been chosen by 007, and featured in several Bond films. The drink has a very persistent flavour and is also lighter, due to the lack of gin.

What's James Bond drinking

Vesper Martini

The presented cocktail is considered to be very tragic in the created Bondiana. It was invented and subsequently named Agent 007 after his beloved girlfriend Vesper Lynd, who was a double agent and died suddenly. This cocktail celebrates the combination of all of James Bond’s favourite alcoholic beverages. The glass is wiped with zest before serving, and a lemon peel is used for decoration.

Old Fashioned

This is another very enjoyable cocktail, mostly chosen by the bookish James Bond. He often consumed it as a mixed double shot before going to bed. This drink contained Angostura bitter, ice, soda and cane sugar. A slice of orange could be substituted for a small cherry if desired.

Stinger

This drink bears little resemblance to James Bond’s famous favourite cocktails. It contains a sweet, mild liqueur which significantly reduces the astringency of brandy or whisky. The prepared drink is poured into a chilled glass through a strainer.

Mojito

A cocktail that only appeared once in a Bond film, as it was chosen by Agent 007. It contains white rum, soda, ice, a little sugar and lime. When ready, serve this cocktail with a slice of lime or a sprig of mint.

Pink Gin

This cocktail was prepared by James Bond in a book called ‘The Man with the Golden Gun’. The waiter added more bitter to the drink to make it taste good. During the preparation process, gin is added to the top of the glass.
